Hospital First Responder course prepares healthcare personnel to manage disasters by operating emergency treatment areas, conducting decontamination, and utilizing the Hospital Incident Command System. These courses focus on patient care during CBRNE (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosive) events and high-volume surge situations. Core Competencies Covered • Incident Command: Utilizing the Hospital Incident Command System (HICS). • Decontamination: Procedures for handling contaminated patients. • Triage: Prioritizing victims in mass casualty scenarios. • Clinical Care: Advanced first aid, airway management, and bleeding control. • Safety: Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). This training ensures that, in addition to community first responders, hospital staff can effectively manage, triage, and treat patients during intense, high-stakes medical emergencies.
